Why should you Trust me?

Marci Trachter CNP, NNCP

Considering an investment in your health is a significant decision, and finding the right guide is key.

For over a decade, I've been deeply immersed in nutrition and functional medicine, driven by a personal mission to understand and overcome some personal health challenges.

I’ve struggled with digestive issues for as long as I can remember. As a child, it showed up as constant indigestion and even “bad” breath (strange, I know—but true). By my teenage years, the symptoms persisted, and seasonal allergies and hay fever knocked me out every spring and fall. My doctor’s advice back then? Drink milk to neutralize stomach acid and get allergy injections.

Growing up on fast food, I had no real understanding of nutrition. On grocery trips with my mom, I’d look at other people’s carts piled with colorful produce and wonder what those foods even were. Fruits and vegetables were definitely not staples in our home.

In university, I often felt like something was stuck in my throat. The doctor told me it was all in my head and prescribed anxiety medication. That never sat right with me, so I chose not to take it.

For years, I limited my food choices because almost everything triggered indigestion—even water sometimes gave me heartburn. After countless tests and several years on prescription PPIs, my heartburn was under control, but I still didn’t feel well.

Meanwhile, I was building a successful, high-stress 25-year career in marketing and advertising while raising three wonderful kids with my amazing husband. Yet deep down, I knew something had to change. If I was going to reclaim my health and bring my body back into balance—physically, mentally, and spiritually—I had to take charge and find a better way.

This path I've chosen isn't just an academic pursuit; it's a journey born from my own experience, and it's what allows me to truly understand yours.

I've had the privilege of being taught by leading practitioners in the field, including Brett Hawes CFMP CNP in the many master classes I have completed in addition to my certification licence. This exposure to effective treatment protocols means I don't offer quick fixes or symptom suppression. Instead, I focus on guiding you toward fundamental transformations that restore your health for good.

My studies and my own health transformation have taught me how interconnected the mind and body are. What you feed yourself, including food, thoughts, and expectations all greatly impact your bodily functions, including and especially your digestion and your ability to cope with stress. Our bodies have an amazing capacity to restore and repair themselves and everyone – even those diagnosed with ‘illnesses,’ can achieve balance if provided the right tools.

I am thrilled and grateful to be able to educate and share the valuable knowledge I have learned. I will inspire and guide women of a ‘certain age’ to stay strong, vibrant, and healthy.

I am aligned with my life purpose, and I'm so grateful I can unite my passion and purpose.

I love what I do and I'm good at it.

How do I decompress?

During my spare time, I enjoy the outdoors which includes cycling, walking and hiking with my dog, Mojo. When I travel I try to include cycling everywhere I go.

I also love hanging out with my wonderful husband of 35+ years and my 3 kind smart and fiercely independent, kids and their partners. I’m so proud of them and they are so much fun.

My last perfect day off?

Walking my dog, reading, listening to music, and being with good friends. I love to play baseball on my team and I have fun play Mahjong too

What would I tell my 15-year-old self?

If only I had known… I’d tell her to relax more and breathe!

Last thing I learned about myself?

That I have to be stronger than my excuses and make sure to take time to treasure my body and soul, no matter what!

One of my biggest "Aha" realizations?

Not everybody is trying to be a better person!

My current guilty pleasure?

Black liquorice and binging on TV Series while walking on my treadmill. Making ridiculously, delicious soups.

My worst habit?

Impatience that causes me to want to control situations - which isn’t always cool

What I will never do again?

Snowboard – my butt and knees did not like it .. Thank goodness for skiing and snowshoeing!

Have I stayed true to myself?

It’s taken me a while to do this, but I think I’m in pretty solid possession of this. In fact it’s a giant priority of mine – it’s everything.. the feeling of ..when you sleep at night –– you know who you are, you feel good about decisions, the people in your life and you don’t give your power away.

Bonus Question - When was the last time I sang out loud?

This morning!

What are my qualifications?

I graduated with First Class Honours from the 3-year intensive program at The Institute of Holistic Nutrition in Toronto, and I’m deeply grateful to have been able to reimagine my professional life in this new realm of health communication.

To expand my expertise, I also completed two additional intensive Masterclasses - one focused on Digestive Health and GI Issues, and the other on Hormone Balance and the interconnectedness of overall wellness. Also, I am proficient in reading and analyzing Lab Results.

In my earlier corporate career, I promoted what I now know are unhealthy products, to moms, families and their kids. We advertised and extolled the virtues of sugar-coated cereals, unhealthy “treats” and other highly ultra processed foods.

I am now incredibly proud to say that I’m part of the solution to wellness, not part of the problem. This is a dream come true for me.
